when did you buy your Wedding Gown?

Ok…when did you buy your wedding gown?
Has any one bought it before the’ve gotten engaged?
*Is it taboo to get it before getting engaged…when we’re already planning the wedding cuz we know when we want to get married?

Although I hadn’t been proposed to yet, I knew it was coming (as in I KNEW, we knew we wanted to, he asked me for my ring finger size, and we chose rings…. he just wanted the proposal to be a surprise) and also we knew when we wanted to get married, which was only about 4 months away at the time. I thought, gee when he finally does propose, I’m going to have a lot to squish in a tiny time frame. So I found my dream dress and put down the deposit (non refundable) at the bridal salon. After he proposed, then I bought it in full and gave the OK for alterations.

I think you have to KNOW, not just “have a feeling”, but if you 100% know (have chosen an E ring out, maybe have talked about dates, something) then I say go for it. It sure took the stress off after he popped the question, I was like awesome now all I have to do is have it altered with plenty of time.
