How much is too much to spend on A Wedding Gown?
My wedding budget is ten thousand dollars and I want to make sure I put a good estimate towards how much I will pay for a dress before I go shopping. Is a thousand dollars, including alterations and taxes, too much to put aside for a gown? There will be hardly any “bling” on my gown..so that should bring the cost down. This wouldn’t include jewelry, veil, or shoes.
With a budget of 10k, I would personally spend no more than 500 on the gown, shoes and accessories. 1k would be 10% of your budget, and at 10k, that will really take away from your food/drink budget.
I suggest you price your venue, food and drink, and how many guests you can afford — this is the most important thing you will spend money on. Then you will know whether you have enough left to spend 1k on your dress.
